This is a nice specimen of Scabriscutellum furciferum from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is preserved in a 3-dimensional manner. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The eyes of this ancient arthropod are beautifully displayed. The pleurons terminate in sharp points. The coarse ribs of the large pygidium are quite distinct. The "crawling off the rock" posture of the bug is very appealing. The dark brownish color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the grayish matrix. It is well positioned on the large matrix block. This is a very aesthetic Scabriscutellum from Morocco.
