This is an unusual trilobite from the Ordovician. It is a fine specimen of Basilicus sp. from the Wolchow River area of Russia. The trilobite is perfectly prone and wonderfully articulated. It exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are tightly attached. The eyes of the trilobite are quite noticeable. It has great caramel-brown color and contrasts nicely with the cream-colored matrix. It is well positioned on a large, natural plate of limestone. This is a very nice specimen of Basilicus sp. from Russia.
