Here is a nice example of a classic US trilobite. This is Eldredgeops rana from the Middle Devonian of New York. This trilobite is wonderfully prone and exhibits great detail. The individual lenses of the compound eyes are intact, and the many pustules on the glabella are quite evident. The thick-shelled exoskeleton is very easily seen. The black fossil contrasts nicely with the light grey matrix. The trilobite is well showcased on the semi-squared plate of limestone. This is a nice display example of a complete Eldredgeops rana rana from New York State.
