This is an extremely rare pair of Mississippian trilobites. These are Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Mississippian of Missouri. This genus of trilobite has many pustules exhibited over the entire exoskeleton. There are two distinct, outstretched examples on the slab - one is complete, while the other one is a moult. The prone bugs are well preserved, showcasing the fine ornamentation beautifully. The dark brown color of the trilobites contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The trilobites are well showcased on the rectangular limestone plate. This is a very nice display plate of two highly uncommon trilobites from the Mississippian.
