This is a classic US trilobite. It is a complete Wanneria walcottana from the Brubaker's Quarry, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This specimen was found in 1985, and has been in a collection ever since. This trilobite is a true Wanneria, which is much rarer than Olenellus in the fossil record. The large trilobite is complete down to the bilobate pygidium - it is extremely rare for a Wanneria to still have the tiny pygidium intact and this well displayed. The bug is nicely inflated, and the overall detail is quite impressive. This is an excellent example of this rare Lower Cambrian trilobite from a locality that has been closed for well over 25 years!
