This is an extremely rare multiple plate of different Mississippian trilobites. These are Comptonaspis swallowi and Ameropiltonia lauradanae from the Mississippian of Missouri. There is a rare prone Ameropiltonia lauradanae and a RARER prone Comptonaspis swallowi fossilized together on the plate. The bugs are very well preserved - the brown color of the trilobites contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The trilobites are well showcased on the large limestone plate - the ornate Ameropiltonia is just covered with pustules, while the distinct Comptonaspis is smooth and devoid of any ornimentation. This is an extremely rare and very collectible NATURAL association of TWO highly uncommon trilobites from the Mississippian.
