This is an excellent Pliomera fischeri from the Ordovician of Russia. This trilobite is almost always found enrolled - it is highly unusual to find an outstretched example of this trilobite. This specimen is wonderfully prone and extremely 3-dimensional. The bug is very well articulated and exhibits extremely fine detail. The free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The small eyes are easily seen, and the many, many thoracic segments are clearly defined. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored exoskeleton of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is aesthetically showcased in the center of the sculpted block of limestone. This is a fabulous specimen of a rare outstretched Pliomera from Russia.
