Here is a very nice specimen of Kainops raymondi from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite is differentiated from Paciphacops by the larger number of lenses in the eyes. This specimen is outstretched and wonderfully articulated. The complete bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits extremely fine detail. The granulose glabella is nicely displayed, and the compound eyes of the trilobite are beautifully preserved. Even the individual lenses of the eyes are very distinct. The thick-shelled, caramel-colored trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well showcased on the sculpted block of limestone. This is an extremely nice example of this large-eyed Phacopid trilobite from the Haragan Formation.
