Here is a nice trilobite from Canada. This is Isotelus gigas from the Ordovician. This type of Isotelus has a very triangular cephalon and no genal spines. This species is much rarer than Isotelus mafritzi. This specimen is beautifully inflated and nicely enrolled. The thick exoskeleton is very well preserved and exhibits fine detail. The protruding eyes are quite elevated above the sleek carapace. The trilobite has great natural color and has been nicely composited on the block of limestone. This is a wonderful display example of an unusual species of Isotelus.
