Here is a very sought-after US trilobite. This is Huntonia lingulifer from the Lower Devonian. This species of Huntonia has a snout projection and a LONG caudal spine - both are beautifully displayed on this specimen. This outstretched trilobite is very 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. The bug exhibits excellent detail - the cephalic process is easily seen, and the flaring genal spines are clearly defined. The eyes of this trilobite are also quite distinct. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well centered on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very nice example of this classic long-spines Huntonia from the Haragan Formation.
