This is an excellent spiny trilobite. It is a fabulous Ampyx priscus from the Ordovician of Morocco. This amazing trilobite was meticulously prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This trilobite is REAL, unlike almost all of the Moroccan Ampyx specimens on the market that have carved-in and painted spines. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits excellent detail. The fossil is also extremely inflated and 3-D for this type. The dark orange color of the trilobite contrasts superbly with the light-colored matrix. The bug is beautifully showcased on the large, sculpted plate of shale. And, again, this trilobite is REAL! This is an extremely nice Ampyx priscus from Morocco - only one of a handful this complete that has not been faked.
