Here is a very fine specimen of Paralejurus rehamnanus from the Devonian of Morocco. This type of Paralejurus differs from the more common type by having short genal spines and a somewhat truncated cephalon. This wonderfully articulated trilobite is very inflated and well preserved in the prone position. Both free cheeks are intact, and the fine detail of the bug is easily seen. The genal spines are quite evident, and the pointed pleurons are clearly defined. The black color of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is well showcased on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a very attractive example of this unusual type of Paralejurus.
