This is a distinct Scutellid trilobite. It is a rare Thysanopeltis speciosa from Morocco. This type differs from most Scutellids in that it has a row of small spines emanating from the border edge of the pygidium - this bug showcases this feature well. The trilobite is complete and has both free cheeks intact. The thick shell exoskeleton is well preserved - the ribs on the tail are easily seen. This specimen is extremely inflated and nicely prone for this type. The trilobite is beautifully showcased on the very large sculpted block of limestone. This is a displayable example of this spiny Scutellid trilobite.
