Here is a fabulous pair of Lower Cambrian trilobites. These are very fine specimens of Olenellus gilberti from Nevada. Both trilobites are very well articulated and exhibit extremely fine detail. The crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen, and the long, sweeping pleural spines are clearly defined and beautifully displayed. The bugs have outstanding color - the brown coloration of the fossils is quite striking. The trilobites are well positioned on the large, squared plate of shale. And both halves of this split pair plate are intact and included together! This is a very collectible part and counterpart trilobite fossil that is over a half a BILLION years old!
