This is a very nice example of an uncommon spiny trilobite. It is an excellent specimen of Cyphaspis sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. The unusual feature of this trilobite is the extremely long axial spine - this specimen showcases this feature to perfection. The trilobite is extremely inflated and beautifully articulated. The distinct trilobite exhibits superb detail - the large, bulbous glabella is covered with pustules, and the eyes are on thick stalks and very prominently displayed. The long genal spines and axial spine are very easily seen. The trilobite has excellent natural color and is well showcased on the sculpted plate of matrix. This is a wonderful specimen of this rare Cyphaspis with extremely long spines.
