Here is an excellent specimen of Acaste sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This exceptionally prone trilobite is quite inflated for the species and is wonderfully articulated. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The individual lenses of the compound eyes are easily seen and the cephalon displays the very fine granulations. The trilobite has been prepared so that the trilobite is elevated high above the matrix. The dark fossil contrasts nicely with the light-colored block of sculpted limestone. This is a superb example of this unusual Phacopid trilobite from Morocco.
