This is a beautifully prepared example of Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus from the Devonian of Morocco. Reedops are very under-appreciated because they look so much like the more common Phacops. This trilobite is very well preserved in an outstretched position. The 3-dimensional bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The entire head, left side pleurons, and tail have been painstakingly extracted from the surrounding matrix. The ancient arthropod has great natural color and contrast and is wonderfully presented on the sculpted limestone base. This is a very colorful example of Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus that displays beautifully.
