This is a great Phacopid trilobite. It is a large Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus from the Devonian of Morocco. This complete trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and tightly articulated. The bug is wonderfully outstretched and exhibits fine detail. The fossil has been prepared in very high relief so that it is elevated above the level of the surrounding rock. The trilobite has excellent, natural, greenish-brown coloration that contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well centered on the rounded plate of dense limestone. This is a fabulous example of Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus from the Atlas Mountains.
