Here is a very unusual trilobite from the Cambrian of China. It is an Unidentified Trilobite from the Lancastria (Changaspis) layers, but is much more uncommon and totally different in appearance. This ovoid trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very fine detail (better than the photo shows). Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, and even the rounded pygidium is intact. The tiny bug (only 1/4 of an inch long!) has very good color and contrast and is beautifully centered on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent example of this extremely uncommon Cambrian trilobite.
