Here is a very attractive trilobite. This is Asaphus (Neoasaphus) cornutus from the Ordovician of Russia. This trilobite is wonderfully prone and nicely articulated. It is very 3-dimensional and quite symmetrical in appearance. The trilobite exhibits great detail - the short protruding eyes are easily seen. The caramel coloration of the thick-shelled exoskeleton contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The bug is well centered on the natural plate of limestone. This is an excellent specimen of this short-eyed Asaphid from the Wolchow River.
