This is a beautiful Russian trilobite. It is a striking Hoplolichas furcifer from St. Petersburg, Russia. This is one of the rarer and more sought-after types of trilobites from Russia, and it is a killer! The bug is fully complete, tightly articulated, and perfectly outstretched. The Hoplolichas has been prepared with the horns and body spines free-standing. The thick shell exoskeleton is covered with large pustules and tiny spikes. The compound eye facets are excellent and can even be seen with the naked eye! The trilobite seems to be floating across the sculpted matrix plate that has an unprepared Asaphid preserved on the edge. This specimen is a textbook example - it is both fully complete and wonderfully displayed.
