This is a "different" trilobite from Morocco and we are not really sure what it should be called. The body is much longer and narrower than a Cyphaspis and it has a thoracic spine that is EXTREMELY long. It seems to fit the description of Otarion best. The 3-dimensional trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fantastic detail. The long genal spines are easily seen and the protruding eyes are beautifully displayed. The extremely long thoracic spine is completely original and has been meticulously prepared in a free-standing manner. The trilobite has thick, black exoskeleton that contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. The bug is well presented on the rounded block of dense limestone that has been sculpted in a very pleasing manner. This is an outstanding specimen of this long-spined trilobite from the Atlas Mountains.
