Here is a very displayable trilobite. This is Asaphus (Neoasaphus) punctatus from the Ordovician of Russia. This type of Asaphid has eyes that are borne on thick stalks and elevated high above the plane of the carapace. This specimen is almost perfectly prone and well articulated. The large, thick-stalked eyes are beautifully displayed. The trilobite is very 3-dimensional and nicely symmetrical. The thick-shelled exoskeleton of the bug has fantastic, natural, caramel coloration that contrasts exquisitely with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite is wonderfully centered on the natural plate of limestone. This is a very attractive trilobite from the Ordovician of Russia.
