Nanillaenus latiaxiatus Age: Ordovician Formation: Cobourg Formation Location: Ontario, Canada Size: Trilobite is 1.6 inches long Price:SOLD
Here is top quality example of a rare Canadian trilobite. This is Nanillaenus latiaxiatus from the Ordovician of Ontario. This amazing specimen was in the Eugene Thomas Collection and just recently fully prepared. This type has a large, bulbous cephalon and pygidium. This complete trilobite is very 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. The small eyes are easily seen, and both free cheeks are present (extremely rare!). The brownish color of the thick exoskeleton contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The bug is beautifully centered on the squared block of sculpted linestone. This is an extremely collectible example of this elusive trilobite from Canada.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
